San Francisco-based psych rock wunderkind Ty Segall got his start in the mid-'00s performing with a variety of West Coast underground bands including Epsilons and Party Fowl. Segall's 2014 album Manipulator was his most-polished and acclaimed release yet and he does it total justice in concert, treating fans to swirling, sweltering sets full of compact, infinitely catchy garage rock nuggets like "The Singer" and "Feel". Segall is a anything but a retro novelty - just when his free-wheeling, psychedelic tunes start to feel familiar, he throws in an unexpected harmonic or tempo change, and it's these surprising sonic curveballs that make his raucous live shows such riveting affairs. Segall had a chance to preview his upcoming release with acoustic interludes that began the shows on his recent North American tour with Freedom Band and is now ready for fully acoustic, unaccompanied performances.With his fuzzed-out guitars, analog organs, jaunty drums, and knack for Beatles-esque melodies, Ty Segall is one of the most compelling and prolific artists to throw his hat in the late-'60s/early-'70s rock revival ring in recent memory. 2“, a cover of The Mantles‘ “ Don’t Lie“, and the title track show an emphasis on acoustic elements-a far cry from his previous album, 2021’s synth-laden quarantine gem Harmonizer. Tickets for the Ty Segall solo acoustic dates go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. Segall will then move down the East Coast, playing concerts in Brooklyn (11/15), Philadelphia (11/16), Asheville (11/18), and Atlanta (11/19) before finishing out the tour in Austin (11/21). The new tour picks up in San Francisco on the 2nd and makes West Coast stops in Portland (11/4) and Seattle (11/5) before working through the heartland of America with shows in Minneapolis (11/10), Chicago (11/11), Detroit (11/12), and Pittsburgh (11/13). The stretch of dates will carry the underground juggernaut from coast-to-coast in November 2022.
